The fire seals the glaze
And defies the earth in vitrified betrayal
And tired of the race
Is your finish, patina, faux?
Panic incubating
But don't call it an emptiness
Not a vacuum
A nebulous cloud
Entire seams evade the eyes of most who will appraise
It's becoming all to clear
That I must choose, that I must pick
One job, one woman, one street, one house, one life
And I don't know how to do it
No resolution fits in my iambic pentameter
In this centigrade circumstance nitrogen will repent
For in its neglect and arrogance
It has become unwanted
And its collective benefits
Will be overthrown by creation
Panic incubating
But don't call it an emptiness
Not a vacuum
A nebulous cloud with shrapnel fired
Across teeth and lips
An idea imprisoned
An emotion with insomnia
Once the fire seals the glaze
And defies the earth in vitrified betrayal
Entire seams evade the eyes of most who give praise
Once kaolin so fragile while so thin
Translucent
Blessed is the pedestal caught reveling beneath
This synthetic rebirth
And what about the pages?
Has their potential been met?
Can the tenants afford the rent?
Is this just another squandered opportunity?
Found in this and measured at higher cones
The fire seals the glaze
And provides the earth with hope
